Jo Crosby-Deakin

Jo has worked with dogs for over 26 years and has run a successful dog training and behaviour business.

In 2007 after her Rottweiler was diagnosed with bilateral Hip Dysplasia, it became all important to learn about treatments and care available for him so in 2009 she undertook her training and together with Jim Yarmouth, built and started CK9.

Over the past few years Jo has recruited an amazing team for CK9 clients and as we move in to the 10th year of trading, we are excited to bring you more.

Izzie Hirst -RCH

Izzie joined the team in 2018 and has been a real asset. She trained with K9HS in 2016 and has been in practice ever since.

She has been involved with dogs all her life and her career path has followed suit. Izzie has not only her hydro qualifications but also a degree in Canine Behaviour with Bishop Burton College.

When not in the pool Izzie spends time with her own Clumber Spaniels enjoying showing, gun dog tests and water tests.

Channon Hart - RCH

Channon joined us first as a volunteer in 2020 and we couldn't let her go so joined the permanent staff becoming a key member of the team.  She gained her qualifications with Greyfriars in 2019 and loves her time in the pool with the dogs.

Channon is another one of the team that grew up around dogs and right now has a fox red lab called Mabel who she attends regular gundog training with.

Lauran Wheaton - RCH

Lauran has been part of the team from near enough day dot as she was our cover staff but last year we convinced her to join us a regular and she thankfully agreed.

Lauran has a wealth of skill and knowledge and has been a practising RCH since 2014.  She is trained in both pool and underwater treadmill and has a BSc in Animal Management and a MSc in Conservation.

Her life is over taken by her dalmatians and her rotweillers and a German Spitz Klien and she spends a lot of time showing and judging conformation shows.

Her bubbly personality and endless energy means there is a never a dull day.

Amber joined us in the madness that was COVID and we finally managed to get her enrolled on her apprenticeship this year.  She is full of fun and enthusiasm.

Sophie joined us as an apprentice and already has a Level 2 Animal Care qualification. She is honing her skills both in the pool and in the customer care aspect of the center.
